Wow, some good suggestions and some who wants to criticize since I did not explain with correct wording.
I said won't transmit or receive since since I can not hear anyone on CB when going on long trip on interstate even though radio mutes at times. I tried to transmit passing truckers and asking them (many tries) to blink their lights if they hear me, and none did.
I said radio quits at times (should have said goes mute) like it used to do when someone else was talking on a CB.
I am well aware you need a mike to talk on CB! I have the helmet one.
I said volume was OK but should have said when in CB set-up the bars were OK for the volume, not that I could hear another CB.
I also know and should have said squelch was good (as shown by 2 bars - again in CB set-up.
For those that gave positive feedback - THANK YOU!
I am getting another CB module from Ebay, coming tomorrow. Will also check grounds again.
I did the radio diagnostic and nothing. I didn't now I could then reset radio by pushing 1 after diagnostic. Thanks for that suggestion.
Well, I got a different module and put in. Tried to program CB but when I pushed "com" it said "Com option not installed see dealer". After few words to myself I started looking at the connection wires. On the back of the plug is had XM. I looked at one of the plugs that was not connected and what did I see but CB. I plugged my old cb module back in with the CB plug and it works!! Obviously when I had the 60K service the DEALERSHIP unplugged the cb module and later plugged it into the XM. Will be giving the owner a call very shortly!
