This lift does what you want. It lifts the bike for maintenance and cleaning and it works well. I ditched the vise like everyone and bought the ride in chock. It works great and my bike sits on the lift everynight. I've never feared it was going to tip over or that it was dangerous.

Cannot speak from personal experience about the HF lift and only know one fellow that owns one. His tipped over with his Ultra on it; don't know what he was doing when that happened. Do know that he sold the lift and replaced it with something else.

Just like our "American Made" Harleys. I understand your desire to buy American but the very computer you wrote your post on is sourced from parts all over the world just like cars, bikes, clothing, steel and just about anything else you purchase.

I have the same lift, we have Princess Auto not Harbour Freight here in Canada. have used it lots since i bought it with out any issues. like any tool, you still have to pay attention, but no issues at all. i changed to a better wheel chock, bought the siccor jack that is about 8 inches wide, and the removable plate under the rear wheel is a bonus for taking that thing off. the one other thing i would suggest is to get the air assist so you don't have to manually jack it up. would have liked one of the better ones, but just did not like the prices on those.

I've had one identical to it since 2005 I think. I've got a Roadking and two softtails and do all my own work. I love it. Can't beat it for the money. I've done a lot of work on friend's bikes as well. You won't be sorry.

I forgot what Broke c7 brought up. You will need a scissor jack. You can buy a decent one for a $100.00

I would love to know as well!! It would take some effort to tip that thing over with a bike on it. I have never had any reason to be concerned about that or even heard of anyone having that happen! Interesting!

I have used one for years from HF and I love it. I removed the wheel chock and installed the other one they sell. Drive it up and step off, but don't step off the side of the lift. Pay attention or you will go over.
