Default Crashed and burned!!!!

My wife and I were out for a ride and a deer ran out in front of us. I applied the brake to just slow down to see what the deer was going to do but when I pulled the front brake it locked up on me it went down. My wife and I are ok bunch of road rash and bumps and bruises. My wife swares she won't be rideing anymore. Here is my problem my bike is a new 3013 limited I bought it 3 weeks ago road it 4200mi the bike has ABS the front brake should not have locked up!!! I didn't apply the brakes hard enough to lock them up. I traded my 08 street glide in with 75000mi and no ABS and never locked up the front wheel. Why did it lock up?!?! Is there a problem that I don't know about??

How did you already get a 3013? must be pretty bad *** with all the technology on it. I'm surprised it isnt a hover bike.

Had you ever tested the ABS to see if it was ever working? I test my on a regular basis to make sure it is working.

You have ridden it for over 4200 miles with no lockups. Now the only variable in the mix is a deer. It's always possible that at the moment you braked, there was some debris on the road which caused a loss of traction. Happens. Doubt your ABS malfunctioned, but I would certainly have it tested at the dealer to be sure. Glad you and wife are ok. Hope you were wearing some protective gear.

Glad yall are ok and are here to tell your story. It is highly unlikely that your ABS failed causing the lockup. Tell the dealer and it will get tested before the rebuild begins. Be there when they test it so the findings cant be swept under the rug and if it turns out to be the cause (which is unlikely) you might have ammo for future use down the road if need be. Good luck bro.
