Default Harley Number

Does anyone have the Main tech/warrentee number? i still have this voltage issue and 2 dealers say that 2009 the idle volts are lower than the older models? funny my wife's 2012 SG stay's on 14 volts all the time while my 2011 RGC goes down to 12.4volts at a hot idle.but when i running it's at 13.9 volts.i need to know if they are giving me the dealer run around
Thanks

are you using a 'real voltmeter' at the battery? or the in-dash?
the in-dash is notoriously inaccurate and may also be subject to voltage drop depending on what other loads ( lights etc.) are on the same circuit.

this is a on going issue,in june the selling dealer changed out the stator, reg, and after the same issue they took it back apart and changed the rotor.worked fine on the way home, next week went for a back road ride stuck in a extended traffic light and the voltmeter went down to 12.4v and the battery light came on.went back to the dealership and they checked it out and told me that i saw a check eng. light and not the battery light which is an insult to my intellence.(i know the difference)anyway they told me it was because i had a power commander 5 and autotune and Medallion gauge and they didn't want to look into after that and put the blame there and charged me 50.00,.i took it to another dealer and i told them once the oil temp goes over 200f and sit idle with the brake on you can see the volts go down, well they ran it for 20 mins and said it's fine.75.00 there,i bought a set of stock gauges and still have this issue and yes the volts on the battery matches the gauge in the dash

Before you spend another dollar, consider the battery.

It's entirely possible they misdiagnosed it, and at your expense.
Take the matter into your own hands, Replace or Load Test the battery.

Warranty? You actually paid money while still under warranty? What a shame!

They do not invest enough time trouble shooting under warranties because they only get reimbursed for the actual repair. A shortcut that cost us time and money.

Take the battery to batteries plus or somewhere, get it load tested, if bad, get the paper work and get a new one under warranty, a long with what ever you paid for their misdiagnoses.

Batteries are a consumable. Get a new one and get on with life. That has to be what it is. Batteries can develop chemical imbalances and cells can go belly-up. It happens to newer batteries too. And.....get a new dealer.

Before I would take pipes and all off I would clean the connections and substitute the bat from the wife SG if I was in question of the battery. Less work.
