This is just a poor dealer issue in my opinion. I was working a deal on the 07 SEUC B/O in Dec. and it was not coming together at the dealer (Balas Mauston WI) I work with all the time due to financing on my part. Told the salesperson (Danny) if someone else came along I would understand if he sold it but I was doing my best to work out the financing. I found a way to make it work and called him a few days later. The bike was sold the night before. He got on the phone and found a dealer he worked with alot (Lacrosse area Harley) and they had one but it was at another one of their delears so they would not trade for it but if I came over the dealer would work out a deal with me on it, but did not want my business otherwise because I was a customer of Dannys at Balas HD. Lacrosse area Harley gave me the same deal I had with Balas and Danny (which was better then anyone else I had checked with. No mark up, set up etc.. charges and above blue book on my trade. Long story short I got the bike I wanted and two dealers went out of their way for it to happen.
This is simply certain dealers knowing what customer service is and others that could care less. My opinion tell them to stick it and go to someone that wants your business. It is not the MoCo its the dealer living in a time warp.
Good Luck....

TrueHarley......No, it shouldn't be like that and if I were treated that way I would have told them where to park the bike once it was delivered and go elsewhere. I see you are in MD, I live in central PA, I can suggest a dealer and a saleperson that did me right if you are interested. PM me if you have any interest.

Deal with Joe Goetz at Frederick H-D. Bought my last two bikes from him. Excellent service. And I'm one hard ***** to please. I cancelled an order at Elkridge because the I didn't like the salesman's attitude.

I'd walk and never look back. HD dealers come a dime a dozen and I don't beg anyone to take my money. Weakness wouldbe the only excuse to tolerate such crap.

It's really to bad that some dealers and their sales staff think they are mightier then god. If I were you, and couldn't find what you wanted at a different and better dealer, just wait till your dream bike comes in buy it and then never go back. I havea dealer just 8 miles from me and I don't walk into the place unless its absolutely necessary, which most of the time it isn't. I would sooner drive 95 miles to a dealer who treats me very well then that 8 miles to a dealer who don't.

After you buy a bike, Moco sends out a customer survey, where you get to rate them. ENJOY!!!!

Was it the Dealer or the sales mgr.Whichever they were playing hard ball with you.If they try to consol you, they feel you will start asking for extras because of the delay. They want you to feel like this particular bike is in great demand and there are no others for you to buy.Sales people are trained to do this.

Vote with your checkbook and your mouth. If the dealer is jerking you around now, they will jerk you around when it comes time to service the bike or if you have a warranty issue.

I bought a brand new bike at a dealership off the floor, so I do not have any experience with waiting, but I will tell you that I have not been back to that dealer, because after the sale, I suddenly became "the idiot" with the SG... Whatever, they get terrible press every time someone asks me about them.

Best of luck, and I hope it all works out.

ORIGINAL: Trueharley

I have yet to deliver my FF Ultra Classic and I'm already fed up with the dealer. Not able to get updates of delivery, No returned phone calls, and today when I finally found out my bike will ship 3 weeks later then promised. The answer was there was a strike (Ya I Know) But he said If you don't want it, 10 minutes later some one else will. When I bitched he tried to cancel the order. I guess if your a dealer you can tell customers Tuff S*#T. We got customers all day long. Is this what I'm to expect with Harley Dealers?

I guess I just needed to vent. Yes I will name the dealer after I deliver my bike and after a letter to Harley Corporate, Better Business Bureau, Govenor, President and anyone else thats considering buying a Harley
There are always three sides to every story.

His side
His side
And somewhere in the middle the truth

So you called and asked for an update, an it took too long(in your opinion) to have them get back to you.
And when they did, you bitched at the person doin what you asked.
And now you are mad and going to whine to everyone that listens how bad YOU were treated.

They were on strike, and production is finally up and running, and I would bet almost everyone that has a bike on order has thier sales person also calling/ contactingYork for an update.
Did you ever think what the sale person may have had to do, just so you could bitch at him/her?

Contrary to popular belief, yoursis not the only Harley on order or being built right now, and you may have to deal with that fact.

And writing "a letter to Harley Corporate, Better Business Bureau, Govenor, President and anyone else thats considering buying a Harley"

Heres a good start to your letter to GW

Dear Sir,
My sales person didn't call me back right whenI felt he should have. And when he didI got irrate with him and bitched about it.
I feel his life should revolve around only me, sinceI amHarley-Davidson'sonly customer and they need only me to stay in bussiness.
Signed,
