I have yet to deliver my FF Ultra Classic and I'm already fed up with the dealer. Not able to get updates of delivery, No returned phone calls, and today when I finally found out my bike will ship 3 weeks later then promised. The answer was there was a strike (Ya I Know) But he said If you don't want it, 10 minutes later some one else will. When I bitched he tried to cancel the order. I guess if your a dealer you can tell customers Tuff S*#T. We got customers all day long. Is this what I'm to expect with Harley Dealers?
I guess I just needed to vent. Yes I will name the dealer after I deliver my bike and after a letter to Harley Corporate, Better Business Bureau, Govenor, President and anyone else thats considering buying a Harley
Geez - ah gotta be one of the luckiest around when it comes ta dealers! Ah've heard folks complain 'bout Honda an' MOCO dealers, yet both of mine have been/are outstandin' ta work with. Got me a lighted spoiler fer mah UC today, went ta install in an' the two gaskets were missin'. Went over ta the dealer, an' sure 'nuff - they don't stock 'em. Guys at the parts counter apologized time an' again, then ordered sum new ones fer me OVERNIGHT - said they'd cover the costs because it warn't mah fault (warn't theirs, neither - but they took that extry step!). When the Service Manager overheard the situation as he wuz walkin' by, he suddenly showed back up with a set off a unit in the shop- said the customer had a boat-load of other stuff bein' installed, an' he'd jest git the other set when they came in tomorrow.
Now, yeah - ah've been known ta show up with breakfast taco's fer the entire dealership, an' a case of beer every now an' then - but I can't count the number of times they've invited me ta the back room fer some chow, or ta sip a coupla cool ones after they closed fer the day.
Obviously, the 'tude yer seein' ALREADY makes it hard ta even THINK 'bout greasin' the skids - nor would I - but in general, MOST of the dealerships around this neck o' the woods are eager ta take care of the customer an' keep 'em happy.
Trueharley Dont put up with that BS from the dealer. Let him sit on the FF Ultra. Then they have to find a FF willing to buy it from them. The strike is over, order another one, unless the wait is killing you. I had a 3 month wait when I got my 2002 FF Road King. Or buy the Ultra from him then show how mighty the pen is by letting HD know how you were treated. Jeff
Your only recourse that will make any difference at all is to buy a different brand and convince everyone you know to do the same. Short of that - they still get your money and that is all that matters to the MOTO CO.
If it was me and it was a good deal I could not get anywhere else - I'd buy it - If it was a deal that any dealer would give - I would go check on availability with another dealer and go somewhere else.
There was a strike and they might be backed up a little - I don't really believe that due to the number of unsold new bikes at the dealers - but anything is possible.
