Yep he is all over Facebook with Religious comments/statements. I will not be going back to him nor refering anyone else.

Even if you changed tires everyday for a living, you'd pinch a tube every once & a while. No big deal, get over it & move on.

Too bad he apparently lied to shift the blame. If he's going to be dishonest over something as minor as that, I wouldn't trust him with my bike.

I got chased part way home the other day, because I finished the day and left with the keys to the customers car in my pocket. Oops. I've gone th lunch carrying a part or tool in my hand simply because I forgot it was there. I've chased red herrings because a customer or person working for me gave me bad information.

I won't dispute the tube being pinched, and that he should own his own mistakes. But to have this shake your foundation of trust in mankind, perhaps that's a little over the top.

I think you're making Much 'Ado About Nothing. The guy pinched the tube. He's trying to save some money. Tell him MSS won't credit the account because it is pinched. Tell him to get a new tube, and that you'll be wanting the old tube and rim strip back when he's done. You are replacing your rim strips aren't you?

BTW he sounds like he needs to spend more time with his pastor.

Abusolutely. Don't know what this guy was charging for the tire install, but it probably wasn't enough.

Most shops, and essentially every dealership service department have a policy that they will not install parts that the customer brings in. This guy was doing you a favor by installing parts that you bought at rock bottom retail. All the money you saved is money out of his pocket. If you want to support a good shop, buy your parts through them. Or install your parts yourself in your garage.

Next time, take your bike to the dealership, buy the parts through them at full retail, and pay flat rate labor charges. You'd probably be paying somewhere close to 600 bucks for a new rear tire, tube, brake pads, and the labor to install.

So are you going to call MSS and tell them that the indy pinched the tube and you will pay for the new one and the installer will reimburse you? If not then your know better than what you say he has done.
Everyone makes mistakes, even people that go to Church. Maybe he thought he installed it properly and it was defective and he had it with him to pick up a new one. Who knows but my first question to you still stands!
