Perhaps you misinterpreted my response, or maybe I did not make myself clear. My response was an attempt to show my surprise at someone's boasting about how few miles they'd ridden. I'd never heard of anyone doing that.

If you ride to Alaska and back...great! If you ride to the corner store for a loaf of bread...great!

But "Who cares?" . Really? Why bother posting at all?

That hits one of the nails square on the head...Some get the bike to make the person, ride twice a summer to a bike night, or they take it out, catch the first junebug to the face, and that's it. Doesn't make anyone better or worse, but I can't understand why someone would pay registration and insurance fees to have a life-sized trophy sitting in their garage. To each their own..

Again, square on the head LOL...I'm even worse now with the Road Glide Ultra (tourpack holds a ton of groceries )

I have seen this same thing in my many years of riding and buying motorcycles. I think there are times when first-time buyers buy bikes because they think they want one, only to find out it's not their thing. I've also seen people buy a bike and then have a near miss accident that scares them so bad they never want to get back on it.

These are the bikes I always looked for when buying used from individuals. If you are looking at all brands of bike, finding one of these low mileage old bikes in not that difficult. Although, there is a point where such low miles on a bike several years old can be a bad thing if it's been sitting for most of that time.

Ultra low mileage garaged bikes make for a nice purchase when the original owner finally decides to sell 10-15 years later.
Tires, battery and maybe a few gaskets and all is good again.
They make for a good purchase for those that pay cash and also know DIY maintenance.
Oddly enough the price of an very low mileage bike is usually within $1,500 of a 'normal" bike.

Both of those pics show some fine shade tree engineering to make that work. Congrats on jobs well done.

Whoa... decaf man, decaf!

He was stating that there were several bikes with VERY low miles... and you know you've seen them too.
When I see ridiculously low miles on bikes, I'm shocked too; many times asking myself, "Why the hell would you even buy the bike?"
I don't care if you put 1,000 mi or 10,000 mi on your bike a year, but it's odd when you see really low miles.
And sadly for us in the upper Midwest, we occasionally get 5-6 months of Winter to deal with.... unlike Arizona!

I also have to laugh, whenever I see someone trying to sell that 3-to-5 year old bike, with 2,500 miles on it,
for more than new... because they added some chrome and highway pegs.

I like it when people buy a new bike and hardly ever ride it........Means I get a good deal on a used low mileage bike. That trend has worked out well for my last five bikes I have purchased.........Nearly a new bike without the new price.
