Default PC-V Advice

Hello,

I'm on a week long trip out east and am having issues with my PC-V. I bought it from Fuel Moto and have worked with tech support once already on this issue. When I'm running between 2600-2900 rpm the bike lugs on acceleration. It's not really noticeable in normal riding because you pass that range very quickly. Riding down the highway is bad though. It falls between 70-80mph. I have all intentions of working with Fuel Moto to correct the map, but I can't on my trip because I don't have my laptop.

My question is do you think there are any risks in bypassing the tuner for the rest of the week and taking care of this once I'm home?

You did not provide enough information for a really good evaluation. What kind of changes did you make to your bike, minor or radical? There is a big difference between simply adding slip on mufflers or adding an additional free flow filter and maybe a cam. The more stuff you changed, the greater the risk for running lean and possibly damaging something. How you ride it is also a factor.

I have a V & H propipe and the tuner. Nothing else is motor wise.

Sorry, didn't realize my signature didn't come up. I have a 2010 CVO streetglide. So yes, the air cleaner is stock on the bike, but is already upgraded from the factory.

I am not sure I would take the PC-V with the change in 2 into 1 pipes and the additional air from the ventilator.

I would see if you can talk to Jamie, see what his recommendation is and see if you can borrow a laptop from an indy.

That is what I would do.

Something a tad off w/the accel fuel @ that RPM range. Your CVO was tuned fm factory for installed upgrades and original exhaust is probably similar to ProPipe so, if you can't tolerate the tuner hiccup, take it out of the picture. Worth a shot and, if it seems to run too lean/rich, can always re-connect tuner and press-on.

You could always take it to a tuner who works with PC-V's.

Seems to me you have a stock CVO streetglide with an aftermarket pipe, does your Pro Pipe have the O2 sensors? System should be ok to disconnect the PC-V and connect as original with the O2 Sensors. You may find the ECM adjusts and the bike will run as expected. Will be a little lean and will not have the response expected with the PC-V but should be ok. Pay attention to pre ignition ping and reinstall the PC-V if excessive.

Disconnect the large connector from PC-V and reconnect to original harness, find O2 sensors and plug into original harness under right cover. If (2) utilized, match gray to gray and black to black.
