ORIGINAL: ppilotmike

I ran one on my 01' E-glide for 60k miles and liked it. Easy to get the bugs off of. I did remove the bra a couple time a year and waxed the heck out of the fairing. Painted still looked great when I totaled the bike. I would have one on my roadglide but I don't like the mounting Harley uses, my fairing has suffered for not having one.
The trick to putting a bra on the road glide is mounting the bra to theheadlight cover before mounting the cover to the fairing, thentaping the tabs to the inside of the outer fairing beforereassembling the fairing. Been running a bra since 03 and the only blemishes are from when it was off (rock chips, ect) . Proper maintenance is the key to preserving the fairing and the bra. You don't just mount it and forget it, it is assumed you change your oil and filter regularly same applies for your bra and fairing.
It never ceases to amaze me all the self-appointed "style police" on how to ride or what is acceptable. I have trailered (35ft 5th wheel toyhauler)all across this country and ridden coast to coast and border to border, how someone gets there is their choice.

Thanks for the help. I knew I would take hits from the trailer issue, but I always bring back twice as much as I left with. My wife and I both agree that it's much easier totrailer to a central point and plan your ride around it. Thanks for the input on the bra. I'm still undecided after hearing both negative and positive experiences. I have trailered my previous bike many times, but it did not have a fairing and I would just remove the windshield & go. I know to NEVER try to cover a bike. You'll trash the paint. Enclosed would be nice......but, $$ buys a lot of chrome & Stuff.

My RG has a clear bra on the fairing the front half of the fender and the front of the saddlebags. It looks pretty good but I suggest finding someone with installation experience. The guy who did mine hadn't done one before but still did a good job. Paint doesn't get hurt and fades at the same rate as the rest of the surfaces. I highly reccomend it!!!

I agree,,,,,,,,,,,RIDE IT. You will enjoy it and the time will go much faster, you will feel fine when you get there. Don't even think about a bra or a tarp. If you were to trailer on a open trailer you will have less damage with nothing on it. Maybe just pretty dirty.

it's amazing, some of the responses in here. the guy specifically requested that his choice of trailering not be debated. But yet, some of you just couldn't control yourself or have a hard time respecting other people's choices.
