If I am not mistaking, I thought I have read somewhere that the trucklite headlight does not fit correctly?

I may be wrong.....

I have the Harley LED and it works great, but I know some complain that when leaning the bikes in turns it doesn't light the road well at night. Has not been as issue for me, but I don't have canyons to carve around here. I thought that the trucklight doesn't come with the mounting ring, which means you need to buy it from harley and, in the end, the cost is about the same as buying the LED at a discount dealer.

So really, before I spend the $420 on that Harley LED, what would really be my best bang for me buck?

The TLPH7 fits with the stock ring it sticks out past it about 1/2 and looks like dog chit, thats why people usually get the frenched trim rings with it. You can get just the headlamp for under 200 from fleabay, or the whole set with passing lamps for 360 from eastern performance, beats the hell out of HD prices.

I am looking for a light with a really clean look to it, I do not think I want some thing that sticks out 1/2 inch, and by time I get the light off ebay, then get the trim ring from where ever I think I might just buy the LED from Harley, but I do not want to install it and not notice and change from what I have now.....

I just bought and installed the HD LED last weekend, and what an improvement over the Sylvania Silverstar I had before. I also tossed around the idea of whether or not to buy an HID kit or spend the money for the LED. I am glad I got the LED.

Go LED.

I could go into all the reasons why to not go HID, but I'll keep it civil.

I couldn't justify the cost of some of the mentioned headlights. I went with : http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DD...ast-35W-or-55W

Glad I did. simple, extremely bright, the beam is effective as far as width and you can't beat the price. No issues going back and forth from hi to lo, etc.. I had the dealer install it while they were in the fairing doing radio warranty work. They made sure to properly aim it so I would not be blinding on coming traffic as well. Not kicking anyone else but, even during the day I have vehicles moving over to the right because they see me coming. Its bright. Good luck in your search.

If you are just doing the Headlight, TL phase 7 seems to be the better value over HD in LEDs. But dollar for dollar the HID blows them both away!

If you go with spots, HD is way better than TL phase 7.

On my newer ride the combo is, HID headlight and HD daymaker spots. It's daytime at night when I ride!
