Bought mine in 2010. 36000 on the clock and it already had a Big Bore Kit and SE heads. Didn't know what else. .just turned over 57000. My first Harley and wanted something I could work on. I replaced the stator 2 years ago. Found that whoever replaced it before didn't take the time to remove the wires from the connector and just spliced it. They rubbed the framed and shorted out...Checked the tensioners back in april since it was going on 54000 miles. they weren't that bad but when I took the cams out I had a bad lifter that jacked up the front cam (SE 257). replaced with S&S ezstart 570 cams, new lifters, new billet alum cam plate and billet oil pump and gear drive. The MM EFI is a bit cantankous but with a service manual and a little time you can get her up and idling just fine. Old Pearl is not the youngest girl at the dance but she can sure get around faster than some of the young whipersnapers. I Wouldn't take less that 10,000 for her.....now I might trade her in next week, who knows, but right now, she's all I need.....

Tucker don't get me wrong. I had a lot of fun with my 1999. Seat and seating position I liked better then my 2012. Only problem I had was with the M&M. And yes it was intermittent.I got so I would set the fast idle faster then it should be and for some reason the low end idle would work good for awhile. Bike was a stage two with big bore kit. Would kick this new 103's ***. What scared me was, that a hd tech told me that Harley wasn't supporting the M&M fuel injection anymore. So parts would be harder to come by. I just talked to him the other day and he said they had a bike in their shop right now they couldn't get parts for. My thinking was I wanted to get rid of the 1999 while it was running good and worth something. Like I said, had it not been for that, I would still be riding it. Oh it did have a crank sensor go out and leave me stranded in Estes Park. But that could have happened on anything.
I have 54000 on my 01 with the 97" BB and Woods 575 lift cams and headwork. Still running the stock MM injection. I clean the air bleeds once a month ( sometimes 2 months) and have yet to have a problem with it.
