I already have a 106 but I'm tempted to go bigger, but $5-7k is no small change to me. From the folks who have done it was it worth it to you and do you have any lessons learned from the build?
I'm no racer I just enjoy power and torque. Thoughts?
Just so happens I'm getting a t-man 124" kit put on my bike at HD Montgomery. Hoping it will be done within the next two weeks. Will post results when it's all done.
it's worth it.......depends what cams you go with cause your results will very. 139hp 134tq on my crate motor. it runs very well. milage in town isn't good but on highway it's between 35-42mpg.

If you call over in the Tech Engine section there are a few threads on 120 and 124 engines. There are not very many on HDF about the 120R, so just use Search for some light reading!

I've had Michael dyno my bike, if he is doing your build you are in good hands. Pls post you numbers, I bet it will be a beast!
Is that the price of a new s&s 124 engine or a kit to make yours a 124?
Seems you could sell the engine you have to off set the price
I think I can do the cylinder/piston kit, new crank, timken conversion, machining for around $4K. I'll reuse my already worked heads, cams, push rods, etc. I can build it myself but of course it will need a dyno tune. A crate motor would be the more expensive route for my build.
