Default Help with Inner Fairing Brass threads

I'll try to be brief but need some suggestions - 05 EG Classic - Removed the wing to put on a set of fairing pouches - Went to put the wing back on and got distracted (long stupid story) and actually pulled out two of the brass inserts from the inner fairing while tightning them down - gently tapped them back on for now and got the end one tight enough but the one in the middle is not holding - Am I looking at replaceing the inner fairing or does anyone have any tips how I can get the brass inserts back in tight enough so they will hold? Hope I described it clearly enough

Call your dealer, get new brass fittings...apparently this happens a lot. f13in/pounds in the future.

Maybe some epoxy glue or JB weld might do the job. Just keep it out of the threads.

Kess, do a search, I remember seeing a post on fixing the inserts, seems like it was Joe Scout, but I can't remember for sure. Good luck.

Had this happen to my 05 Ultra. Harley makes a fix, the new ones screw into the inner fairing as oppossed to push in.... they repaired mine under warranty as it is pretty common

You'll have better luck with 2 part epoxy. It will dry clear and last for years. Ride on.

Had this happen myself. Tried the 2 part "Plastic" adhesive... no good. Tried heating the brass insert then hammering it back in... no good (tried this 1st). Used JB Weld... still holding strong! JB Weld is the right way to go.
