Default TBW Twist Grip Sensor Connections: Upgrading Sensor from 32305-08 to 32310-08

Can someone please confirm if these are the correct instructions/connections for replacing the stock TBW Twist Grip Sensor (32305-08) with the newer SE/CVO Twist Grip Sensor (32310-08)? Here's a link to larger photos: TBW Twist Grip Sensor Swap

Thanks, guys.

That looks like it....great addition if you are doing bars. Keeps that other pos from coming apart in the bars...

So, basically:

  • Step 1: Unplug the old TBW 32305-08 grip sensor from the fairing harness, de-pin the wires from the TBW harness plug, then remove the old TBW grip sensor.
  • Step 2: Pull the wires for the new TBW 32310-08 grip sensor thru the bar.
  • Step 3: Using the old TBW harness plug, re-pin the new TBW grip sensor wires.
  • Step 4: Plug the old TBW harness plug into the fairing harness.
Is this correct?

On the throttle side, which wires should be pulled first, the TBW grip sensor wires or the switch wires?

On the clutch side, are the switch wires long enough to accommodate the Harley 12" Bat Wing Mini-Apes, or do they need to be lengthened?

That is correct. I pull the switch wires first...They are harder to get through. I also repin them and make sure everything works before moving forward. What kind of bars are you doing? There are some other tricks...

Are both sets of switch wires (throttle and clutch sides) long enough to accommodate the new 12" bars?

Yes. 1" bars.

No. I haven't ordered the bars yet, but I WILL be ordering them because I like the grip angles on them.

You are going to have to extend both sides. 10" rise is about the limit. It is pretty easy though. You will probably need a longer clutch cable and brake line too. Do you have ABS?

P.S. I would compare the grip angles to the 12" Wild One Chubbies to see if they are close if it were me. Great bars, same price and WAY easier to work with. I have done a ton of both types. The 1" can be done internally but like I said, they are a PITA...
