Thank you ALL! I do agree that no one solution fits everyone, so I will take an incremental approach.....just as soon as my eyeballs quit spinning from the 200 miles I rode yesterday!

I put a taller windshield on my street glide, looked through it rather than over. Helped a lot.

OK so like others have said I can only comment on what worked for me

also this will depend on your own situation and body type, but I am 5'11"

My SG is set up with the 6in Windvest for a shield, lower fairings (speakers, but they do really block a bunch of wind) and I also added the ashtray (not sure what it's really called but its the chrome half moon piece that bolts up under the triple tree and basically blocks the wind coming up between the forks

took a bonzai run from Daytona to D.C. for Rolling Thunder this year all highway, all at 80-85 and couldn't be happier

now I also expect some wind and need some wind to keep temps down (on my own body) but head shaking and blurry vision are not acceptable so that combo has been working for me

I did a similar solution and works great for me. I do 75 mph plus everyday commuting to work and no rattling my head etc.

EXACTLY

I have been down this same road. I ride a 2011 Street Glide, 30" inseam and 5'-8". Below are the facts to correct the issue and I put them in the order I bought and installed them. Funny thing is I should have done them in reverse.

Below are the changes made and their impact on reducing the buffeting:
1. Took short visor off helmet - Reduced 5%
2. Windshield 6-5 KW - Reduced 15%
3. Fairing adjustable lowers - Reduced MAYBE 5%
4. Fork leg mount wind deflectors - Reduced 90% and now I can run ANY shield I want and get no buffeting.

If you put your hands on the side of your tank at speed you will see where the bad air is coming from, when I did this it was my AH HA moment.

On request I can send pictures if needed!!

F150Marine, since the fork deflectors work so well for me as well, almost too good, do you find yourself using the fairing adjustable lowers to bring a little air back behind the fairing?

I use the lower fairing vents and have just fitted the new HD fork deflectors - the picture shows a Fast Aire recurve 7" screen which I like the look of however the Klock Werks 8.5" I also have is the better screen for higher speed use.

If you don't like fork deflectors.....

Lower fork baffle, taller handlebars, full face helmet. Works great. Why are your eyeballs being buffeted anyway?
