No! There are a few products, described above, with a proven record of improving comfort. In summary the bottom tree baffle helps a little and the fork deflectors help a lot more. Buy both and enjoy, then work from there!

I will however add two further items to the mixing pot. I have purchased (but yet to trial) a pair of Road Glide tank deflectors, 57000063, which are claimed to reduce updrafts. Whether they are effective behind a batwing I hope to discover before too long.

My other contribution is the shape of my modified windshield, which improves both my comfort and that of Mrs B. It was inspired many years ago by that ugly BMW custom touring bike, the one with twin headlamps. Having owned BMWs for many years I recognise that they know a thing or two about aerodynamics, so I unashamedly copied it. It works remarkably well!

One of the biggest helps that we have found are a pair of the fairing deflectors. Like our Hawg Wings. The Street Glide is a strange animal. Because it has a lower rear, it changes the angle of the fairing just enough to cause most of the issues with wind coming up from underneath. We always recommend our Ultra shield and our Hawg Wings. A really good shield like our Flat Top, which has the re-curve spanning the entire width of the shield gives you excellent protection over the top, but on a Street Glide creates more of the "vacuum" effect and causes more air to come up from underneath. Our Ultra shield gives great protection over the top and our Hawg Wings stick out a bit more than other brands and seems to help a great deal with the vacuum issue.

I'm not a big fan of all these aerodynamic stuffs that looks kinda odd sticking out in various parts of my bike either nor am I expecting a total elimination of the problem but surely hoping to pick up a few points here. That little something that makes the most difference without looking funny and after all, isn't that what we are trying to figure out here?Coming from a Sports bike world,I've sacrificed almost perfect, smooth, powerful and reliable engines,Precision handling machines and I could go on and on..I like Harleys now with all it's shortcomings, only trying to make it a little more fun

Default Soft Lowers Reduce Buffeting

Like Sauceman, I use just the soft lowers (I like a clean look to my bike), the Desert Dawgs. I've had plexiglass lower deflectors that bolted to my forks and they did next to nothing to help with the wind. My dawgs are all I need (and I ride in Minnesota in the cold)! http://www.leadermotorcycle.com/dese...s-rain-guards/
