harleys new windsplitter windshield
just for reference, got the shield from zanotti's for 125 and some change. ordered it on sunday afternoon, got here on the following tuesday, comes out to 8 days. not bad....
put the shield on tues afternoon, rode for about 100 miles. for me, its a keeper. i was able to actually hear the radio, and it wasn't even at full volume. visibility was awesome. event though the shield is tinted, you aren't really looking through it. had a lot more visibility than the batwing fairing with a 6 inch shield on it. the flip on the front redirects the air to the top of my helmet, not my face. so if you are a good bit taller than me, it might be blasting right in your face. also, i was able to take my hand and pass it in front of me looking for where the side blast was. ends up being about 5 inches out on each side of my head. still got a little wind noise from my helmet straps, but not anything that is unbearable. when i first picked my bike up from the dealer, i turned the radio off cause at anything over 55 mph, you couldn't hear it anyway with all the wind noise.
went for a slightly longer ride today, differing weather conditions. even caught a little rain on the way back. if it was raining harder, i would put a bandana across my face. not that i would get direct hits in the face, but it would ricochet and get me. but since it wasn't raining that hard, i just kept right on going.
so in short, going straight into the wind, or straight with the wind the shield is great. if you have a cross wind, you will notice it, but it isn't terrible. i think you'll notice that whatever you use. and if you're average to short, this is a shield to look at. if you're on the taller side, you might not like it. i'm satisfied with it and just glad that i didn't have to do the windshield shuffle like so many others. now i just need those 7.25 j&m speakers, and jamies 2-1 headpipe and slip on jackpot...... gonna have to take it a little at a time
now for some pics:

yeah, i know i gotta change my sig pic.... waiting until i get my seat in so i can take some pics....
Run the 15" in winter and the 10" in summer..also I'm 5'8"
How does this due as for wind in the face? wear a helmet? type?
Thanks
........ i see that cup holder on the bars, you're obviously a man who knows what's necessary to distance ride !
yeah, the cupholder is a definite necessity. rode up to spearfish, sd a couple of years back (around 1750 miles) and was hating life on the way up there. picked this up at sturgis hd (can get it online as well, www.barefootwillies.com) and it gets used quite a lot since
