Looking at an 02 Electraglide Classic. Bike has 41K on it and the guy is asking $7250. A few concerns. The engine is black, I thought the electraglides had silver engines. I inquired about the cam chain tensioners and he advised they were replace along with the injectors as a factory recall. Been searching like crazy and haven't seen any references to this. Is this a crock or what?
engines were black, no recall that I know of, had an 01 same exact set up. he most likely changed them on his own, does he have paperwork? good bike might want to inspect the tensioners if you buy it just to be sure, figure that into price
I owned a 2002 and never had a recall notice from Harley. Over the 7 years I owned the bike it was in 3 different dealerships for an assortment of work. I never had a dealer tell me anything about recalls on that bike.
I replaced my stock cam tensioners at 15,000 miles with an aftermarket S&S510G gear drive cam. At 15,000 miles my cam tensioners were shot.
I never heard anything about or did anything with my fuel injectors. They seemed to work good.
Bought an '02 Ultra new in May of' 02. No recalls that I know of. Changed the cam chain tensioners at 38K. I still own this bike, and have no plans on getting rid of it. The '02's was a very good year model for the Harley touring bikes!
