Default 2000 Ultra

Making the guy an offer of $7,000 Friday. It has 41,000 miles and he had a SE203 cam installed along with cam chain tensioners, push rods, and cam brgs 1800 miles ago. He has receipts and the work was done at the dealer. He explained that he needed a bit more power for 2-up and followed the dealers recommendation for the cam. The bike also has stage 1 with slip on's, I plan on adding 2 into 1 V&H pipes. Overall the bike is in excellent condition. My problem is the M&M FI. He says it works perfectly and is unaware of the problems with it. Not a HDF reader I guess. Is there a tutorial or can someone offer a maintenance procedure to keep the FI in top shape. Been searching like crazy and it seems that upgrades don't sit well with the M&M and problems begin to happen. I don't plan on any mods and just want the system to work well.

M&M is OK until it isn't. There just aren't parts available and few folks know much about it. There were a couple good dealer downloads, which it should have with the cams. There are add-on tuners out there too. M&M is fine with mild builds like ya got there, just keep it clean. If it goes **** up There are carb conversions or ya can do later delphi system, but neither is cheap.

I feel your frustration and decision delimma. I recently purchased a 99 RKC with M&M FI. Bike runs perfect and is stock except for Stage 1. Has 28K miles. It is definetely a gamble even if you get it for $7000. You may find yourself spending another $1500 in the future to swap to a carb setup. The good news is you have the cam tensioner upgrade done. I just hope I get lucky for a long time with my bike because it is a beauty.

My 01 Ultra has the MM injection that's been trouble free for 54000 miles, even after the 97" BB with Woods 575 lift cams and heads shaved, ported and bigger intake & exhaust valves. I clean air bleeds out about every month or so and have not had a problem.

Many have put 100's of thousands of miles with those set ups and never worried about it...

I have 104K on my 99 with a BB 95 CI, Andrews Gear Drive 37G's (had the SE203 prev) still running the M&M. Have always had a problem with the idle dropping over time. Have replaced all the sensors just because of time, injectors (do to one of them went bad) & one of the new ones went bad so I am currently running one newer & one original. The plus side of the 2000 even though it has the M&M is it also has the forged crank. I rode tested a 2010 Limited & am still happy with my 99.
