I asked this question the other day and I am hoping for more feedback.
I had my dealer install the HD batwing mini apes and the clutch requires a lot of effort to pull. They are saying the pull is normal for the combination of bars and cables. My buddy has 13" bars and his clutch pulls easy. The dealer said maybe I need an easy clutch kit installed.
Had they told me the clutch would be this stiff I would not have spent the money for them, I'm quite disappointed so far.
Anyone with these bars have input for me as to how your clutch works or ideas on the easy clutch kit.
Im not there to feel your clutch so I'm not sure how "Stiff" it is but whenever I would replace clutch cables and they were stiff it would always be the result of shitty cables.
Any time something doesn't appear to be right some dealers will say 'it's normal' ...sounds like yours is one of them. Take your bike to a different dealer and have the clutch adjusted.
My buddy had the same problem the clutch cable it wasn't properly installed...I just installed wild 1 10 in 578 and used a Barnett plus 6 cable and have to say the pull is smooth and easier than the stock cable so I calling bullshit on your dealer bring it back and have them do the right job....
They replaced the cable with a braided one (HD maybe) although I'm not sure what length they used. When I get a second I am going to call and see what they put on.
I agree the clutch pull should be same as before. When I installed my bars I installed a +4 Barnett clutch cable and routed it exactly as stock cable. The pull is same as stock HD cable was. There is either something going on with cable or how it was installed, routed adjusted.
when I installed my bars I had to get a Harley braided cable for the clutch and the pull was stiff, not like Magnum's I had on it with the other bars, I ordered a Magnum and changed it out and was fine after that. some of the harley cables are not that good, cheaper quality
