The wife and I figured out months ago that we were going to go the 2:1 route for stage 1. I was leaning towards the Dragos for my RGC, after speaking with Frank on the phone that cemented the deal - many on here have said it before but it's worth repeating - with all the morons out there that have no clue about customer service it's refreshing talking to someone who is willing to listen to your questions and get people pointed in the right direction. She likes the look of the shorter pipe on the D&D better and has a lowered bike so she is going with the low cat on her fatboy lo. Everyone has questions about sound when buying pipes so it will be cool to see how each pipe sounds side by side on the 103. When everything is done in a few weeks I'll figure the picture thing out and post some clips of the 2. I know Internet sound clips kind of suck, but recording the 2 pipes on the same device in the same conditions should give an idea of the difference between them.
I'm on the fence between these pipes as well. Leaning toward Drago's though. I like supporting small business and i've read nothing but great things about the exhaust and the custmer service. Looking forward to seeing that comparison.
I just went through this 'moral debate' as well...and went the D&D route.
Replacing my V&H True Duals and Monster Ovals with a 2 - 1 for the performance gain on my 120R...I have a tuning appointment with 'Doc Weaver' in Mineola on September 2nd...and I can't wait! He will also replace my SEPST with the TTS.
My Boarzilla came in this past Thursday...I started the removal and replacement Friday night. The 100+ degrees in my garage has slowed me down a bit...and I can't find my OEM exhaust bracket that bolts to the tranny sidedoor. Got to go and get another one, damnit! Anyway...the quality of this D&D product blows me away! I was pleased with V&H stuff...this is much better!
Looking forward to getting it done...good luck with your project!
Half the project is done. My dragos came in Friday and installed it and RSD air cleaner Sunday. Lovin it so far. Nice deep sound and not obnoxious at idle or cruise, but will get people's attention when you grab a handful of throttle. Great fit and finish, brilliant chrome.
The wife's D&D should be here tomorrow or Wednesday, will post sound clips of both together when done.
