I didn't when I bought my Glide, but I do now! She also has her own Harley now, but we ride 2-up, especially on longer trips. Plan ahead........
Ding ding ding!!! Exactly that. I had a Street Bob, got an OL, now I ride a RK.
Anyway, while the Ultra or Electra Glide standard will be nice, but the SG can always be upgraded with different shocks - you'll just have to save your pennies to do that (what's the CAN equivalent to the US penny?)
If you want the street glide, stick to your guns and get it. I don't ride one but IMO the street glide and the road king are often the best looking harleys on the road. The 2013 will have the 103 and ABS(I think). Make sure that the bike has really good tires at purchase time. Replacing tires is expensive and annoying.
Look around for a newer Ultra Limited if it's within your budget. It will have everything you'll need for touring so that next year you won't be saying 'Oh I really would like this or that on my bike'. As one of the earlier posts said - you can always remove the tourpak when you are not on the road.
To the OP, of the two SG's that you mentioned, out of the gate, the 2010 will have single exhaust and either a TC96 or TC103 motor, while the 2013 will have 2-1-2 exhaust and TC103 motor.
Regarding change, ride her as she sits. She'll let you know what needs changing...
That and the 13 sounds like it was in a slight accident?

The '10 will have a 96" motor. The 103 option wasn't available till 2011.
