Ok..... Good tips, I did buy the poly bushings today, and my replacement fluids. I have cable extensions, I have them in case, just read a lot of crap on forums, etc, saying they didn't need it with the 13" bars

I'd assume by "clutch pieces" you're referring to the ramp ***** under the clutch cable ramp in the tranny? Book says to use HD all purpose grease to reinstall them so they don't roll away, and stick in there during installation.

Not thinking his is gonna be easy, but saying I think I have a good head start wi all my prep. Tear down begins tonight!

You are correct on the TBW, it will be long enough but you will have to connect your harness back together underneath the radio. Word of advice, cut out the green plug and solder your wires and heat shrink them too. If you don't and you disturb that plug in the least little bit it will cause your bike to throw all sorts of codes.

Stagger your extensions on hand control harnesses and shrink wrap the entire length. When you disassemble the connectors, pay close attention to how they come apart. Draw a diagram of each plug and what color wire goes in each hole. If any of your pins get bent during the pulling process, straighten them very carefully cause they will break. I tried a different technique on putting the wires in the connectors on the last set I did. Put the connector back together without the wires in them. If your pins are good and straight they'll slide right back into place. Way easier.

Also if you will jack the bike off the floor, put a 2x4 under each tire, set bike down on 2x4 and lean over on kickstand you won't have to drain tranny. Very minimal fluid loss this way. Best of luck. Hope it all turns out well.

Also you can release the cable inside the tranny without having to tear all that stuff apart. Once you've got the tranny cover off you'll see what I'm talking about.

Im not sure about you but I went thru way more than a 12 pack and took me bout 20 actual hours of labor and I had put bars on my old nightster. Patience is the key and I agree with taking the green connector apart for the tgs and soldering the wires. Mine pulled apart inside after I had all the wires ran. so I had to pull them and solder and try again

Yup, I didn't either. You shouldn't have to monkey with the retaining ring or to use grease to keep the ***** in the ramps.

If you do want to take it all apart this video will help you out:

Noted..... Solder it is, not about to do it twice..... As far as hours and beer, I've got plenty of both right now!

I watched that video, I subscribe to his feed, appears to me, if I have cable slack, I can just work the cable just so to get that coupling off the ramp.

Yeah de-adjust the cable first, then take it apart at the perch. That'll give you all the slack you need plus you won't have to work up tight to the bike if you want to sit back and be closer to your beer.

If you rotate it forward as if the clutch were pulled in, you can twist the cable around and pop it right out. Needle nose pliers works good on this.

Damn! You guys are taking away my reason to bitch! I'm sure I'll find about 100 more though...... Like I said, done this before, just not with the batwing. Softail was my last time, and I took the snap ring out of the tranny cover like a dum dum.
