If theyre smart they will put the vent in the w/s not the fairing, that way you can eliminate it if you dont like it. Personally riding 4-5 days thru the desert I would welcome the vent. Its functional

this is why I don't like the vent I have a flair windshield to stop the wind not add more to my ride.
I'm going to wait until I can get up close and personal to one. I wanna finger it over and look up her skirt! Personally I'm ok with HD trying to modernize some things, ultimately the water cooling thing may, or may not catch on. I want to see that new Batwing also, how does the vent work? You would think it would be operator controlled to allow you to open or close it. Might be able to put a 'hood scoop' on her like we did our old muscle car hoods! I'm not sure on the new instrumentation placement, it might grow on me but it looks kinda plain they way the gauges are all lined up. The larger bags would be a welcome luxury as long as it doesn't make her to 'wide' in the rear end. I'll have to go sit on one this weekend and see how she feels...

Harley will probably offer a fairing color-matched intake for only $199.99.
Doesn't make any sense to me. They managed a new batwing fairing without skipping a year of production...What makes the Shark nose any different?
They just had to modify the bat wing. They will have to remove the ugly first on the shark nose. There is a lot of ugly to design out, that takes time.
..... yeah, and it's what will make all the 'new batwingers' jaws drop when they come back in '15 ....
This is right... There's no way Harley is going to drop one of their flagship motorcycles. I would say, come next year, they will introduce the ALL NEW RG, which will directly compete with the Goldwing.
I personally like the vent. The water cooled heads are questionable. And the latches, well I could care less. I rarely get into my side-bags (mostly use the tourpack).

LOL! They'll have to completely redesign it then. Cuz you can fix ugly, only replace it.

The objective of the vent is to push the wind over the rider from the inside. Goldwing and BMW have been using this technology for years. It's not intended to blow air on the rider.
