My bike is the mysterious red sunglo was going to pick up some touch up paint then get those black filler plugs touch the heads with matching paint then put a dab of clear silicone on them before inserting what do you think?

I'm thinkining it SHOULD work. You might want to get the plugs and check it to make sure you're gonna be happy with it. Not sure if the plugs will sit flush because of the shape of the edges where the out side holes are.

I see what you mean if you come up with a solution pm me. Another thought put a piece of painters tape on the front then fill the hole from the back with paintable caulking then a dab of touch up......hmmmmm

Thanks for all the information. Waiting for my King tour pak and will have a look what to do.

I just noticed there is a set of black gloss hinges with latch listed in the 2014 catalog, part# 53000343 (page 347 of the '14 catalog) $199.95

I saw those a while ago.
ehh...maybe when I can't find anything else to spend my money on. I'm kinda like if they don't match the paint like the latches on the bags they can just stay chrome.

For the guys asking about the chopped back rest on a king pak, here is some info for you. The pictures come from the instructions from both the pak it's self and the back rest as info for the chopped and the king are all the same. No measurements or templates, I guess HD wants you to use the right one for the box...LOL.

Anyway, these may help some one out. Just from looking at them I think you would have to drill 3 new holes, just a guess.
