Default 2014 Tour Pak

I'm going to add a detachable Tour Pak to my Street Glide and was wandering if anyone has gotten a good enough look at the new 14 Tour Pak to give an opinion on how it would look on a 12? For the $50 price difference I'd prefer to have the new one:

1. It's bigger 5800 CI to 3850 CI
2. Looks to have a better profile
2. Better latches
3. My OL like the back rest on the 14 WAY better.

Just not sure how it would look with the older style saddle bags.

This is what I used...if you want a chopped or different back rest or what ever you're gonna have to look up your own part numbers.

It is a different rack. But I would think it has more to do with the bottom of the box then the mounting points as the frame didn't change and there are no new lugage racks to fit the 14s, but I could be wrong

Make sure the light bar will connect and work with your bike. The 2014's are using CAN-BUS electronics and most likely not work with 2013 and older bikes. I know that they have two sets of LED mirrors - one for 2013 and older and one for 2014.

Where there is a will there is a way. Might not be plug & play for several reasons. Some of which were already mentioned.
Also, it might be more than $50? Did you figure in the armrests in you pricing? I think all of that stuff has to be bought separately like a la cart.

From what I can tell from the new parts catalog they have one without the lights on it just like they did with the old style. Which is what I want...no lights.

They say the new one is bigger, but it doesn't look bigger in person. In fact, FF helmets have to be placed just right to fit. Still, I would try to make it work, you don't have to have the lights, I don't on mine.

I'm sure I could make it work, just not sure if the shape of the new box would be so different it would look odd.

The back rest are the same price in the catalog even though they are no where even close to being the same.

Old King: H: 11.0" W: 22.0" L: 16" Total of 3850 CI
New King: H: 13.7" W: 27.0" L: 21.6" Total of 5800 CI
New Chopped: 10.7" W: 27.0" L: 21.6" Toatl: 4500 CI

So the new chopped has more CI space the the old king.

I'll have to look again when I'm at the dealer next. I looked at it and opened it up. I remember really liking it. Need to be thinking about it in terms of how it would look on my bike though. I would likely go without lights too. When I start moving forward with body part replacement and painting, I'll be doing custom LEDs in fender and think I'll do some custom LEDs in my TP as well.
