Old King: H: 11.0" W: 22.0" L: 16" Total of 3850 CI
New King: H: 13.7" W: 27.0" L: 21.6" Total of 5800 CI
New Chopped: 10.7" W: 27.0" L: 21.6" Toatl: 4500 CI
So the new chopped has more CI space the the old king.
WOW! That is amazing!!! Now I gotta look at the new bags to see if they are wider. I never would've considered a chopped TP, but seeing it here in black and white, I'm pretty sure a new Chopped TP is what I'll do when I pull the trigger.
I'll have to look again when I'm at the dealer next. I looked at it and opened it up. I remember really liking it. Need to be thinking about it in terms of how it would look on my bike though. I would likely go without lights too. When I start moving forward with body part replacement and painting, I'll be doing custom LEDs in fender and think I'll do some custom LEDs in my TP as well.
I've only seen pictures so far and from them the curve of the top of the new tour pak doesn't look to different from the older bags. But the bottom has a much nicer shape IMHO. I know the catalog might not be correct but the ones they have part numbers listed for don't look to have lights or antenna mounts, which is exactly what I'm wanting.
I don't think it will look odd on a SG. In fact it enhance the SG cruiser style. It kind of has the Razer look w/o being low profile.
Beary
That's kinda what I was thinking.

They must be, but they are shorter. The new bag supports are completly different. They have em in the parts catalong but from pictures I've seen they mount different as well.
I'll be watching this thread as I thought the same. I've been considering a chopped for my '12.
There is a new 4 point bracket for the '14s, but no new sissy bars or luggage racks, which means the mount geometry must be the same as the 09 - 13. There is a new mount for the new tour pak, which probably has to do with the pack side and less to do with the bike side. It's all listed as '14 and up.
But I had the same question. Will a new tour pack with the new mount attach to the old 4 pt hardware. Be nice when someone knows for sure!
I think the new trunk would look great with the old saddlebags. And with the CVO style extended bags? SWEET. I know whats in the future for my ride if I don't wind up moving to a 2014.

Good work, I was going to look into this as well. I figured if the new 4 point will work on the old, it's good to go. I to love the look of the new tour pak. Hope it works out so we can all upgrade.
Ok...I checked the prices again and it looks like the new one will be $83 more. Must have looking at the one with the color insert and I want the plane Denim Black one. Still not bad considering the size difference and the fact the the new one has a better latch and hinges. Guess I'll have to wait till I can see one this weekend to make a decision.
