They say the new one is bigger, but it doesn't look bigger in person. In fact, FF helmets have to be placed just right to fit. Still, I would try to make it work, you don't have to have the lights, I don't on mine.
Beary
The extra size comes from the width mostly, (5" wider) and its a bit longer front to back I think. Ive actually fit a cooler in there that would not fit in my old one, height wise. It sure doesnt LOOK it, but it is bigger.
Just the tour pak.....haven't ordered any of the other stuff yet.
I added the badge so the back doesn't look so plane.
I'm pretty sure I will be adding the smoked light kit # 54352-09 in place of the chrome strips on the bottom. After looking at the part number for the chrome strips I believe the old light kits will work even though they are not listed for the 14's on the HD page.
Looks like it is pre drilled for the back rest, I would like to add the side marker light kit and speaker pods, don't know if the older speaker pods will fit the 14 tour pack, the 14 has some type of different lighting system that could be the reason they are 14 up. I like the emblem on the back of your pack
I was hoping you would get this mounted and say we're good to go with clearance.

It is pre drilled witch is nice. My buddy put the older style on his Road King about a month ago and had to drill for the back pad and the rack. No drilling the bottom either, there are bolts that are already in the bottom of the box.
You'll need new style speaker boxes. the shape is different and they are in the parts book.
I'm gonna skip the rear speakers and add a comm system.
I'm about 95% sure the current side lights will work.
I'm not the least bit concerned about clearance. I can open my saddle bags pretty shallow. I have to to get them passed the Ultra seat I run when the OL is on the bike.
Is the bottom of the 2014 Tour Pack flat or does it have ribs molded in it like the earlier Tour Packs.
I'm wondering what it would take mount the '14 TP onto an '08 quick detach rack.
I'm guessing the holes won't match up. But I'm thinking I could mount a plate to the rack and the TP to the plate. I already have the quick detach rack.

I love the look of the new tourpak. I'll be ordering mine in vivid black with the pinstripe for my black Street Glide Special. I hope the pinstripe will be a good idea and match my pinstripe somewhat.
Going to get the LED taillight kit.
Getting the 14 speaker boxes but no speakers. I'm upgrading to booms for the fairing and going to put the stock ones in the tourpak. All ready checked and the are the same part number in the book. So they will fit. This way it will save me 200 bucks.
