Looks like New Castle has all my parts but the barrel lock. I'm guessing I should have everything by the the first or second week of Dec. I'll test fit it and take some picture before I take it back apart to get the rack powder coated.

what I'm really interested in is on a pre 2014 touring bike (in my case a 2013 Road Glide) does the 2014 Tour Pak, w/detachable rack, take up any of the passenger's seating space.

It's going on a 12 Street Glide so I'll be able to answer more questions once the rack gets here. I'm guessing it will increase the passenger seating space compared to the old tour back due to the fact the new style box has a lean to it.

I thought I'd bolt a 10.75 X 10.75 piece of aluminium plate to the 08 rack and bolt the TP to the aluminium plate.
I'm considering doing the same. It shouldn't be too difficult to rig some kind plate like you suggest to mount the box to I wouldn't think. Please keep us posted on your results.

Looks like I'm gonna need a couple more parts to clean up the look of the Tour Pak. They are surprisingly inexpensive considering. If you look at the new Ultras you will see a fold down flap that covers the wiring for the Tour Pak that doubles as gap filler.

SCREW, TRUSS HEAD MACHINE:2724 x 2 $.52 ea
NUT, ACORN: 90844-80 x 2 $2.09 ea
COVER,T-PAK WIRING: 53000308 $20.46

The Tour Pak doesn't come drilled for this piece. It will fill the gap behind the seat do to the Tour Pak designed to sit farther back giving the passenger more room. For the price I'm gonna go ahead and put it on to clean up the look and eliminate the gap.

Sure did. The barrel lock has a 20 day turn around so that's kinda slowing things down. I'm hoping everything will ship some time next week. After Christmas I'm gonna order the side running lights and the wire harness to get that all working and the flap. I'm just gonna get the two bolts and acorn nuts at the local dealer.

zproud,

Do you have another seat run run two up? If not the flap is not gonna tuck behind the stock Street Glide seat. I have an Ultra seat I put on when the OL rides with me.
