I noticed this too. Weight placed behind the rear axle is not good news from a handling perspective and the new TP sticks quite a bit further out than the old one. Pic courtesy of Timusa, thanks for making it...
Twinrider, how did you manage to embed the .gif into the message? I could not) thus the picsharing site...
Love the 14 chopped on the King. Great art work Timusa and thanks for the work. Of course my bubble was burst when it was pointed out the 14's only come in 14 colors.....
I have the '14 Street Glide Special and bought the NEW 4 point docking station as the one I took of my '13 will not fit. My concern was my detachables wouldn't fit and I would have to pony up for new ones. NOT SO. My 2013 detachable luggage rack, passenger backrest and tour pack rack fit perfectly on the NEW docking station. So the connecting points match up exactly the same as the '13 previous docking stations. The new '14 model simply mounts differently. Much better IMO by mounting method, looks and simplicity. So you do indeed need the new docking station but any detachables designed for earlier models fit just fine as I have used all mine extensively over the 6 weeks of ownership and 4500+ miles of riding.

Also not suggesting it's dangerous... but any weight added behind the rear axle can produce quite noticeable differences in handling.
Several trips where my girl and I added the larger T-bag on top of the kingpack it was very noticeable. And day trips from a 'base' without the T-bag or tourpack loaded was quite different.
Just my experience... of course YMMV.
All that said, I would not think twice about taking on a new model in terms of the tourpack; not too convinced that "infocenter" is what I'd like however.
Just an ole analog dog here...
Tour Pak order placed with LSHD1.com. I'm sure it will take some time to come in but no big deal. It will give me time to get my Visa chrome cash in so I can get all the other stuff I need to mount it for free. Cause I do like free stuff.
I also plan on getting the Detachable Mounting Rack powder coated gloss black so it will match the rest of the bike.
I'll keep you all updated and post pics and stuff when I get it all together.
