Something else I noticed to other day when I had the bike out...the top inside of the lid has the drill points marked if you wanted to add a rack to the top of the box. Just in case anyone was thinking about it.
Looks like I'm gonna need a couple more parts to clean up the look of the Tour Pak. They are surprisingly inexpensive considering. If you look at the new Ultras you will see a fold down flap that covers the wiring for the Tour Pak that doubles as gap filler.
The Tour Pak doesn't come drilled for this piece. It will fill the gap behind the seat do to the Tour Pak designed to sit farther back giving the passenger more room. For the price I'm gonna go ahead and put it on to clean up the look and eliminate the gap.
It took me a minute to find it and I posted it. If you run the OE Street Glide seat two up I'm not sure if the flap will work. It kinda tucks behind the seat to help it stay down and I don't think the Street Glide seat is tall enough. I use an Ultra seat when my wife and the tour pak will be on the bike.

..... so simple, yet sooo smart.....
... glad to see the MoCo engineers make it that much easier to correctly install HD accessories
......... either that, or they just got tired of hearing dealers bitch cuz a newbie tech had the template upside down & drilled a $200 lid wrong
...... this is apparently post#3000 for me ....... woowhoo, is there a prize for that ?
that what is great about our bikes, I can't wait to see the rack and latches powder coated
I think it's gonna be a no go on powdering the latches. A lot of small pieces and plastic in the front latch. I might just have to learn to live with it.
The rack will be dropped off Friday at the latest.
Check the detachable hinges on the rack when you get it or if you already have it. I was taking mine apart to drop it off to get powder coated and the screws pretty much just fell out the were so loose.
