I have a Tour pack coming to mount on my CVO Road King.

I have a quote from the dealer to have the painted to match my Diamond Dust paint with pin strip. The quote is 500.00.

Harley if they would paint it to match gets 900.00 for a CVO paint Job.

Do you think this is high? I have never had anything custom painted before so I am not sure.

Just ask in a new thread. I'm not sure but I would think you could get it done for less if you find your own painter. Not like the dealer is the one who is gonna paint it, they'll just send it out.

The HD kit DOES come with the wire harness. Can't speak to a knock off kit or something that looks like a good prices on ebay.
Ok great can't wait to see the pics of how you installed the wiring connections.

BTW just so we are clear, the side kit or the back kit comes with wiring harness?

The side kit from Harley does have the wiring...just go to HD web page and look at the install instructions.

I don't know what back kit you're talking about, but do the same look at the instructions, it gives you a parts list.

That really adds a lot !

You've put a lot of effort into this mod and it's really paying off. Like everything you've done, a lot to be proud of. Someday...

Ok...Installing the side marker lights. This is for the HD kit so I can't speak to any of the off brands. It's pretty easy once you get over the fact you'll be taking the drill to a $700 tour pak.

First thing I did was get the tour pak harness dug out on the bike. I don't know what year they started putting on it the Street Glide but my bike is a 2012 so anything after that should have it.

It's located under the left side cover in a sheath with extra antenna cable on the right side of the fuse box. You'll have to cut a zip to get it loose from the bike.

I cut the sheath off so I could get the harness away from the antenna cable and run it up through the frame under the seat so it's easy to store when the TP is off the bike. I covered the harness with some new conduit to keep the wires from being exposed.

The next thing I did was take the TP completely apart so the bottom of the box would be a little easier to work with and taped all the places I would be drilling. Helps keep the paint from getting messed up plus I was marking drill spots and what not on the tape.

Onto the holes to run the marker lights into the TP. Unlike the older version the new one does not have the + for the drill points to pass the wires through. So I just set the light in the proper place on the box and marked for drilling. You will need to drill a 1/2 inch hole to pass the plug through and put in the grommets that come with the kit. The spot for the marker light is 1 inch top to bottom so center your drill point at 1/2 inch. The rounded off side of the grommet goes on the inside of the box. Repeat for other side.

Once you have both sides drilled and the wires run through flip the box over and hook up the included harness and set it in place how you see fit making sure you have enough slack to run the socket end of the harness outside the box. And there is plenty so don't worry about having to get any kind of connector harness or anything. Secure the harness with the supplied clips.

Now you need to drill a hole for the harness to exit the box. I took socket end off the wires so I didn't have to drill a big hole plus I had a rubber grommet at the house already I use to put in the hole so I just drilled it to that size. I drilled the hole a little hight but I would guess about 1-1 1/2 inch from the bottom of the box should do. The second small hole you see in the picture is to mount the "flap" If you have any questions about the "flap" let me know.

Now all you have to do is put the TP all back together and you should be good to go.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.
