Ok I think we need an FAQ on this. I see conflicting info throughout. I personally am a little confused and would love to run a '14 chopped on my '11 King but want to get it right the first time.

No.. Use the one made for your bike.
The docking points are still the same fit, as far as removable items are concerned. The way they mount to the bike changed in '14.
You can use your old docking kit with newer items, or older items with a new '14 bike (if you had a backrest from '12 and bought a '14 you could still mount it).
I placed my order for the barrel lock (and screws) yesterday at Glendale HD and gave them my key code, they looked at me a little funny when I said it was for a '14.... but whatever, they said it would take about 10 days.
