I want to put the speaker pods on to hold my daughter in place, I don't need the speakers, have them in the tourpack lids and the lower inner tourpack, so I need a gromit, and the pods, anything else.
craigffb is yours a chopped or king pak?
King. I got the tour pak to haul stuff and for my OL when shes on the bike cause she liked the back rest. To me bigger was better for the same money. Plus I don't think the speaker pods will work on the chopped as the bottom of the TP is shorter.
craigffb, is there rear speaker wiring 'hidden' anywhere like you found the light wiring tied up?
I have my tourpak, my speaker pods.. I am hesitant to drill into the $800 box but tomorrow I will have a beer or two and man-up.
I am going to create some sort of detachable setup for the speaker wires I think, but I need to know if I have to pull the tank/fairing and pull new wires up from the radio.

sorry for taking so long to respond. I finally got into the bike to do the install. I answered my own questions.
1) the 2015 road glide special does not have a factory harness for rear speakers rolled up in hiding.
2) yes I got the harley pods, they came with the long harness to plug into the radio
but I have #3 now.
reached out to hogtunes. They are sending me an amp for my 15 road glide that has a 'no fader' option and a detachable harness. this is going to allow me not to have to pay the dealer for a radio flash for rear fade/rear speakers.
the kit should be here tuesday.
last question, anyone know the 2014-2015 part number for the lower tourpak pad? the one that covers the wiring behind the seat?
I drilled into my tourpak last night, made a mess, but it worked after some quick bracket mods.
I put a king tourpak with rear speakers on my '15 Road Glide Special. I found out that the dealer will flash the radio to enable the rear speaker harness for under $50, but I skipped that and went with a 4 channel amp and custom harness with a 'no fader' option. Hogtunes has been great working with me on a kit that is not released yet. It sounds powerful and I'm really happy with the whole setup.
Ill post pics when the bike is clean.
stuff to add to the FAQ if anyone is tracking...
1) there is no rear speaker harness rolled up anywhere on the 15 RG
2) the rear speaker harness is included with the rear pods
3) Harley has to flash your radio for the number of speakers/amps
4) you have to drill big holes in your expensive tourpak without a real template
5) the most important thing - the '15 RG has no tank crossover - so wiring the harness from the front to the rear was pretty easy. tank comes right off.
6) don't use power tools on the windshield screws.. they strip/spin easily
7) you need a 2-pin Y connector under the fairing if you are using a hidden AM/FM/WB antenna to trigger the amp when accessory/ignition is on. PN 69200921
next project, is the wrap around turn signal/brake light.
Without looking at 36 pages, will the new '14 packs fit the older style road glides? 2009 to be specific?
I just installed a 2014 tour pack on my 08 Street Glide. It is at the painter and I am waiting to post pictures when I get it back at the end of the month. I used the 08 mounting bracket and I made a sub plate underneath out of 3/4 Black Delrin plastic to give it more length and support for the tour pack underneath. Worked great . I bought the unpainted version and mounted it. Pictures with the graphics will follow when completed. Pictures taken outside the Corvette plant in Bowling Green KY
My 2014 King has been at the painters since late March, went into the booth today, should get it back sometime next week, I'll have over $1000 invested when I'm done including rear LED and side marker lights. and a liner,
This is without speakers, which will come later this month.
This project is nickle and diming me to death.

Dang Bro....you should have got the speaker pods before you sent it to paint. You have to drill some pretty big holes to mount the pods.
