Dang Bro....you should have got the speaker pods before you sent it to paint. You have to drill some pretty big holes to mount the pods.
I purchased a used bottom and lid, the bottom already has the holes in it , but I just purchase the gromets for the holes, $10 each what a rip, also need to purchase a wiring harness, but I don't know if I need to purchase a 14, or a 13. I have a feeling I'm going to have to cut wires and modify it anyway I go with this project.

If you tell me exactly what parts you have for the pods I'll let you know what you need to make them work. I'm guessing just the jumper harness and new pins to plug it up.

Don't have the pods yet, trying to find a deal on them, doesn't seem to be too many deals on the new speaker pods, along with the wiring for the lights and pods I'm close to being finished.
The darn support plate cost $95 just for the plate, what a ripoff.
I could use another chrome quick release bracket

Suck it up and get the pods from HD...use one of the on line discounter you like. No one else makes them for the new style tour paks yet. If you get them from HD they have the wiring harness with them along with all the screws and everything. Then all you'll need is 4 terminal sockets part # 72381-98 and if you don't already have a 35 pin connector part # 69200033 you'll need one of those as well.

thanks for the part numbers, I'll need them.
I should have it together in a couple of weeks.
Next year I'm going for the bags and lids I have CVO bags now, I'm going for the new style next year, I will start around Christmas.
I just installed a 2014 tour pack on my 08 Street Glide. It is at the painter and I am waiting to post pictures when I get it back at the end of the month. I used the 08 mounting bracket and I made a sub plate underneath out of 3/4 Black Delrin plastic to give it more length and support for the tour pack underneath. Worked great . I bought the unpainted version and mounted it. Pictures with the graphics will follow when completed. Pictures taken outside the Corvette plant in Bowling Green KY
Did you use the H-D docking hardware? Also can I use the front hardware as well to move the tour pak up front as a backrest for myself?
Yes I have. I am installing the complete 2014 parts on my 2011 from the fender strut covers to the tour pak and 2014 style bags and lids But for a 2008 that is a complete different frame on your bike. You should be able to modify your rack to accept the 14 tour pak , bolt holes should be very similar.

Sorry didn't read complete thread. I jumped ahead. Looks like u got this all figured out. Pictures??
Yes...HD smoked light kit. The tour pak SHOULD be pre marked for the hole for the side light wires by a + under the chrome strips. I'll post pics of everything including the 2 holes for the flap. In total I'll be drilling 5 holes in this brand new tour pak.
I ordered a set of the quick detach locks too.
Do you also have a rear light panel for stop/turn/running lights or just the smoked side marker lights? If yes to the rear light panel, what part # (and does it work with 2012 electrical interconnects even though it physically fits a 2014&up TourPak)? If no, do the side marker lights have a nice clean finish on that rear facing corner by themselves so they don't look like there's a piece missing?

Thanks.
No on the rear lights. The side makers have small gap in the rear corner but that's how they are on all tour paks.
