You think these upgrades and introductions for the 2014 Harley's really going to stop riders from looking into the "new (for the 5th time) Indian? i know i won't be looking i'm waiting for the new shark...Electronic's aside H-D kept the same size motor. and you know size matter's...sometimes
I think leaving out the RKC is a mistake. Indian will fill that void. As for the rest, I think a few will switch. Polaris seems to have done a lot of research and built a solid bike for the Harley type of crowd. Time will tell, but their warranty is much better than Harley's. Their engine looks fantastic and doesn't require a liquid cooling to provide more power than Harley's 110. Their suspension is suppose to be a lot better, we will see.
I don't think Indian competes for the hard core Touring bikers, but for the bar hopper crowd that puts less than 2000 miles on their bikes a year, they look very competitive.
Except for the RKC, I think the 2014's did help Harley against the Indian.
INDIAN beat harley on more bang for the buck! infotainment this and keep your one quart of antifreeze harley, instead of that bs you should have had 110 motors standard in all models

I don't think Harley as to do anything; Indian on the other hand needs to do a lot and as a lot to prove. What Harley as done is show that it's not sitting around and not making improvements to it's well known and popular product. I like the new Indian but untill it becomes a bigger brand it's a niche bike to me.

x2. Just don't understand the $13-14k CVO justification for a larger engine and more bling. Give all touring models the 110 motor. Maybe it will happen in the next model year.

Just how much bigger and HOTTER do we need these motors to be?
My 103 has plenty of power for me. And even with doing a Stage 1, de-cat and install of heat deflectors, it's still a hot motor. And yes, I get that sitting on any motor is going to be hot.
I guess this somewhat relates to the current thread about obesity in America.
