So after reading tons of posts and threads and exhaust sites, and talking to other riders, I still dont know what I want to put on it. I am leaning towards the rinehart 3.5" slip ons. But yesterday was told to run the BUB 7!! I have got to do something soon. My biggest question is what muffler to run now, that I can add the head pipes later???
I want to do it all now, but can't afford to do the full exhaust, tuner, and intake all at once.
What do I do? And in what order? As I said, I need mufflers now, As I have a set of Rush slip ons that rattle very bad!! All the packing is gone.
bub 7 are great ,had them on my 06 r,k wish I still them but the 4inch reinharts are nicer ,but if you still have your cats. don't waste your money onless you gut them or change your head pipes, if you don't believe me just take off your mufflers and start the bike ,it will be just as quite as ever
I have the 3.5" slip-ons and they are loud with my true duals and cams. But with the catted stock head pipes they will not be very loud and should sound better than the stock pipes.
Give Rush a call they might help you out. If its the old style mufflers with single bolt they my give you a break.....

Go to a bike night & look/listen to what others have.
Ditto the above advice. Listen to the pipes before you decide what you want. The differences are amazing. Virtually everyone I asked if I could hear their pipes started it up and took it to red line. Sometimes I was sorry I asked, but I focused on the styles I was interested in. Some sounded tinny, some sharp barks, some sounded like music and thunder. Of all the different types I listened to, the Jackpots had the right loudness and the truest rumble so I went with those and I am very happy. I had a chance to listen to both the 3-1/2" and the 4" and I chose the 4" slash down Jackpots. They dropped lower slightly when I added the ceramic lined 2-1-2 headers which removed the cat.
The key for me was to listen to many pipes before making my decision. The most common pipes around here are Vance and Hines and Screamin' Eagles, followed by Cobra, Rush, Bassani, and Samson. Jackpot would not have been on my list had I not listened to them on other bikes. We have bike night at two local clubs on Thursday, City Hall and Yella Beak. Great place to look at and listen to pipes.
PS: if you showed me your pipes at City Hall or Yella Beak..thank you.
