Congratulations! I am really more interested if you noticed a big or small difference in the amount of heat your legs felt, especially--if you can test at a stop & go traffic situation.
The new partial liquid cooled & air cooled (twin cooled) is really the pinnacle, IMHO, of the 2014 changes. I know the audio system has undergone a complete make over, but for me, what would make me take the leap/jump to the 2014 limited is how less heat has been removed from pre-2014 models...I am kinda in the fence at this time...
thanks,
DC
09 Ultra
We went out for a ride today, the temp was 98 degrees and did get stuck in some stop and go traffic. There was heat coming from the engine, I couldn't hear them but i'm sure the cooler fans were running. One thing I did notice is that on my 13 bike there was always a big difference in heat on the right vs the left, that's not there on this bike. Always thought it was the cat but now i'm second guessing that. Maybe someone can school me on this.
Checked out the Limited and it was sweet, hard to tell any twin cooling, appears as though a couple of quick disconnects and the crash bar and all is removed. Performance is better than expected. Nice R&D Harley
A couple of other things to mention. First is the air temp sensor...this read accurate all day long, best I could, I confirmed it with the weather channel app on my iPhone. Big improvement for a worthless feature.
Second, this is an accident waiting to happen, when riding with my country playlist, the head unit displays the cover art of the artist, couldn't keep my eyes off Carrie Underwood looking all sexy on my dash while I was riding.

The right side of my 09 Ultra is where the heat is exhausted as air flows over the engine cooling fins. I can usually feel the hot air from the engine exiting whenever I place and move my right hand about six to 12 inches beside rear cylinder head at highway speeds, as a matter of fact, when riding on cold days, i will place my gloves on the right side of the rear cylinder head to warm my hands...
That is an interesting observation that you did not feel hot air on the right side compared to the 13. It seems though that the engine heat is being absorbed and defused quite well by the liquid coolant and radiator system. I will be interested finding out, in a more extensive test, how efficient really is the this new liquid cooling system...please kept us posted...
I'm very impressed with what I've seen so far. Matter of fact so impressed that I'm considering a trade also for the Amber Whiskey and silver. Haven't rode one yet but will soon.
