Was in Starved Rock HD in Ottawa, IL and the sales manager wouldn't even let people "play" with the new 14 Limited sitting on the floor..... Basically was showing everybody the new features with the radio and ignoring the rest of the bike. Was telling people he MSRP was just under $29,000. He didn't like it when I called him on that, and had to prove the MSRP to him on my phone....... Really didn't like when I left saying f#%k this place.
Of course your bike aint worth what it was, but its still a good bike. I bought a 2013 road glide, which value is great now, but when that new 2015 roadglide comes out, value drop. The average buyer will not want your bike, the wiring, stereo, front fork handling, fairing etc are all out of date. Thats the way it is, who the hell wants to buy an iphone 3 when the iphone 5 is out unless you are broke and its all you could afford. Trade in will always be less also then what you can sell it for.
Had a Road King. Kept everything up to date with service. They told me that "when" I go to trade it in, it will be worth a good value because of my "upkeep." Not a scratch on it. People thought it was a new bike. Excellent condition. It was a 95.
Well the time came. They came up with an excuse and offered me something way stupid. Long story short, I sold it for 5k more than the dealer offered. When they called 2 weeks later they ask me if I still had the bike? I said NO, it was sold the next day for 5k more than you offered me. They couldn't believe it! He then asked if I was ready to buy a new bike? I said I already did at another dealership.
Of course your bike aint worth what it was, but its still a good bike. The average buyer will not want your bike or mine, the wiring, stereo, front fork handling, fairing etc are all out of date. Thats the way it is
Red is mine, fixed it for you. Isn't this the case for all pre 14's?
Sure you will be happy to know the City still thinks it worth top dollar when they send the personal property bill. Mine is now worth more then my 2004 4x4
