I went from an 89 EG to an 11 SG. So, I'll be ready for a new one when the 33's hit the dealer's floors, they should be running on Hydrogen power cells by then. LOL!

Well, this is what it is.
Harley has finally updated the bikes, been a long time coming. My self they couldn't sell me a left over 13, got to have the new and improved. One year from now I will be trading in my 11 King for a 15 King, I know I will get hit hard but for me I feel it will be worth it.
Give it a little time and I think the used Harleys will come back up, but not by much. Looks like Harley Davidson did a great job on the 14's, guys like us will need to adjust to this with the old style, but still great Harleys. It is what it is.

If anything, I bet the value of our "old" bikes have gone up! Here's the prices for Basic Black (the fastest color)

2013 Ultra Classic: $21,799 Limited: $24,199
2014 Ultra Classic: $23,249 Limited: $25,899
one thing you aren't taking into consideration is the abs and security. in 2013 you had to pay $1195 for that. in 2014, it is standard. so you are really only looking at a price difference of $255. for the radio alone, you are making out ahead.

Now factor in the daymakers which are standard on both bikes, the LED lighting in the rear and on the TK navigation, bassports, etc the price increase is more than justified, not even mentioning the parts specific to the MY 14 TK. I love all the hatred toward MoCo and dealerships in here.
He didn't say anything hateful. Just that the new lineup keeps getting more expensive, with no entry level. So older bikes will be only alternative for lower cost entry level buyers. For some reason car manufacturers/motorcycle manufacturers aren't responding to the fact that many people are on a tight budget. Just market to high income people.

Trade in value depends largely on the dealer. I have several in my area, one is always low wholesale, I rarely buy from them. another gives much better trade prices. I've had as much as $4000 quoted as a difference between one dealer and another in the past. Shop around after the hype of the new ones cools.

I know my 09 Road Glide had a $12,500 dealers cost from HD. They were selling them at a base rate $22,500

I bought my 13 SG less than a month before the 14's came out. I was pissed at first but once I looked over the 14 I'm happy with my 13. I really like the radio with iPhone hook up ability and 6 in speakers. But I don't like the bags at all. And not a fan of the new batwing either. Very nice bike I would ride one. But I'll stick with my 13 for a while.

Yes but...that 1989 FLHT was one hero of a bike. I had a 89 FLHTP and its still out there with over 140,000 Kms. and can still keep up with most stockers...

My friend is leaving for an East Coast tour next month. and he is sure it's good for it, as I am too. He still likes me..and Big Blue.

I literally turned around and walked out, he chased me and said wait I can give you an extra 500.00 for your bike. Total 12.5 for my bike.
LMAO. My dealer offered me $15k and I wanted to punch him in the throat. He also told me the '14s would sell above MSRP. If the local market is any indication, there will be lightly used '14s on CL by May.

I went out and bought some fresh goodies for my '12, I felt guilty for straying.
