Unhappy Installing a Garage Door Transmitter in a 2014 Ultra Limited

Purchased the 2014 Ultra Limited last week, and simply love it. I also purchased a Garage Door Transmitter for it and pulled the faring loose and much to my dismay, the harness changed significantly.

So, I have the 91561-01B kit, and instructions which are useless on the 2014. It also required a new Electrical Connection Kit Part Number# 69200722. This is not very helpful either.

Can anyone tell me what the heck I need to connect to on the 2014?

Thanks in advanced.

Brian

It's my understanding that the 14 Limiteds already have the garage door transmitter built into the headlights. Might want to check on that.

Wow, I've done A LOT of reading on the new models but I hadn't heard this b4. If it's true this is great!

If it's not, I have an idea for you: If you never plan to use the PTT option, you could solder your PTT wires to an extra garage door opener and leave it sitting inside your fairing. Then just push the PTT button on your handlebars to open the garage. That's what I did. You can figure out which wire with a shop manual or test with a volt meter.

Well, I will say that the fairing comes off very easy compared to the previous models. The connector to the Headlamp is much easier to remove. I always had problems with the stock bulb coming loose.

I used Velcro to stick my opener up under and behind the lower inner fairing that covers the ignitionn switch on the left side. I just reach under and push the button and nobody knows its there.

I will have to read the manual on my 14 Ultra Limited to see If one is built in to the bike.

Great Idea, I might give that a try on my old discontinued 2012 Limited

If you're running the Harley kit, the aux connector you need is required to tap into the the CANbus electrical system. Well, not required, but unless you're good at wiring you'll want it. Ran into the same issue on my 13 SB. The extra connector is only 15 bucks and makes install a breeze. Get that sorted out and all you need is the high beam side of the headlight to tap for signal and you're good to go.
