I don't even know what buffeting is - been wearing a half for nearly 10 years, prior to that no helmet. Are we talking about wind kicking your head around, like back and forth?

Yea pretty much that. It would maybe make more sense to call it turbulence.I rode naked bikes for years and never heard of it till I got a Harley.

Ok I see. Never experienced it before. With my '77 iron head I never wore a helmet and didn't have a windshield but back then no one did. My wide glide did have a detachable but I never had turbulence and wore a half. Same thing with my ultra - half helmet and all is well. Maybe my height and windshield height make a buffeting-free-combo...

... And for the record I don't experience buffeting on my scooter. In Phoenix we do have some pretty fast 5 lane freeways, and sometimes they get a little choppy at times, but I don't attribute the choppiness to buffeting.

Buffeting

I will say this regarding my 2012 RK. I but a new windshield from Clearview shields ( http://www.clearviewshields.com/shop/harley-davidson/ and I have NO financial interest in this company AT ALL) They had many different height options with the top curve and the vent option. They were great to deal with and this shield helped significantly. I later put of fork shields, and have little to no buffeting now.
