I have the fork deflectors, adjustable fairing wings, and the little half moon shaped thing that mounts on the trees. I can run a 4" Sg shield with no bufeting regardless of helmet choice. - By far the fork deflectors gave me the most bang for the buck.
Prior to these add on, I got way more with my FF Modular. My 1/2 is an HD helmet with the screw on shield and a small visor. It does way better then any other helmet I'v run. Probably the shield on the helmet prevents the wind from catching on the visor and flapping it around.
I can hear buffeting with a full face but don't feel it and only slightly feel it when I switch to my 3/4.Look at it aerodynamically most full face are built with aerodynamics in mind and the wind is hitting a flat smooth surface instead of your face.A 3/4 is mostly smooth except for your face, a half helmet is shaped like a parachute.
