I guess I dont know what it is either. I have a 1992 flhs and a 2006 flht and dont have any head bobble unless somebody gives me that stupid harley wave. Then I nod at them.
Never even heard of it until the 2014 bikes came out. Damn another issue I didn't know I had, gotta quit reading this forum, find more problems with my bike everyday, lol. Are you sure HD didn't make it up to sell more new bikes? I wear half helmet and don't notice any buffet unless I have some Jimmy Buffett playing on the stereo.
You could take a look at the Desert Dawgs lowers. They were made to keep rain/water off your feet and legs but they do a darn good job of cutting down the updrafts too. They're easy-on/easy-off. And I dare say they look real nice too. :-) http://www.leadermotorcycle.com/harl...n-rain-guards/
I don't really even think about buffeting and I'm not positive I understand what it is many folks complain about. I thought being in the wind and getting blown around a little was just part of riding a bike. I'm not trying to be a wise guy, really I just don't understand. I like to keep the wind off my chest because the force of it pushing back on you adds to fatigue but i don't like a windshield in front of my face so the batwing fairing with a minimal shield is perfect for me. I also have wind deflectors but I'm just trying to keep road grime out of my ears and eyes.
Have 6 bikes, 4 helmets (ff, 3/4, couple 1/2), bikes that buffet do it with all the helmets, bikes that don't, don't do it with any. I suspect the bike is more often the culprit than the helmet. The only windshields I've been behind with no buffeting were on frame mounted fairings - but even some of those had buffet. I usually just ride without one, steady wind doesn't bother me, or cause problems with any of my helmets.
If you wear a full face and then never leave your family room you won't feel any wind at all!
It is funny to me too. I ride a motorcycle but I really don't like the wind
It messes with my hair. You know how those military buzz cuts go crazy in the wind..
We are riding motorcycles right? Damnit we need to speak to the sales man or who ever convinced people to buy a bike that they would not feel any wind.. Damn wind why can't I do 80 on the freeway and feel no wind.. I mean come on can't the designers and engineers who build these things make it wind proof.
