Default 1994 Ultra Classic

Hi, I'm looking to buy a 94 FLHTCU that has been in storage for almost 10 years. Owner said he hasn't started the motor in 5 years.
I know it will need a lot to get back on the road.

Aside from the obvious things like new tires, carb clean/rebuild, drain and Kreem fuel tank, change all fluids including brake lines and forks, maybe new drive belt, new battery Etc.

What else should I worry about with this year/model.

The guy is asking around $4500 obo. but I think he is desperate to sell and I think I can maybe get it under $4000. Is that a fair price?

Thanks In Advance for any input, and I'm sorry if I posted in wrong forum

Here is a picture of the bike before it went into storage 10 years ago:

There were 3 Ultras outside a bar this week. No question the EVO was the best looking one, much nicer we than the newer ones. That bike looks great. Is the battery dead now?

Buy as low as you can.
Replace the tires and battery. Mess with the brakes only if they don't work. If it aint broke don't fix it.

Well, I would shoot some penetrating oil in the cylinders, replace the gas and see if it will fire up and run ok before I bought the bike, if the cylinders and rings are bad from sitting to long your looking at a bore kit, about $1,200 for a shop to do.

Check the valve covers for signs of leaking, also the base gaskets. The carb will need to be cleaned and the battery will have to go. Don't try to start it with the old gas, probably has water in it. Check how old the tires are and hope they are less then 6 years old. How many miles are on it? These bikes can nickel and dime you to death, but Ebay has lots of good stuff for it. Give me a holler I'm in Roselle if you want another opinion on it.,,

Thanks for the responses. The bike has 32,000 miles. And those miles were all prior to 2004. The bike has been stored since then.

I will ask the owner if I can take a better look at it.

Big cahuna: thanks for the offer. I live in Clark. Are you doing the run to the vietnam memorial on the 15th out of warinaco park? There is also a run here in Clark on Sept. 22

Too much money considering my dad pretty much gave his 98 Ultra away at $4500 and it was running perfect.

Thanks I agree. I'll try to get it for under $3000. maybe closer to $2500, otherwise I will just walk away. To much of a gamble!

Not a big gamble Those ole pigs run and run. 3000 to 4000 your safe.2500 your kidding yourself. If anybody else finds out its gone....I know i would hand over 3000 in heart beat and just load it.32000 miles is nothing, Tires, batt, fluids are all normal to think about on anything you buy. I never realized how many people are looking for old EVO touring bikes till i started running one.
A perfect 98 now with clean title is around 8500 7500 if your lucky
