Default HD Half Helmet

Looking for another helmet with a flip down shield for night time/rainy riding (I know, I need a clear shield).

Looking at this one....http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...ds-half-helmet

Anyone have some thing comparable that could offer some helpful real world experiences??

If you like Harley's offerings in helmets take a look at the HJC website. HJC makes most if not all of Harley's helmets. HJC helmets can be had for a whole lot less than the Harley branded HJC helmets at the dealer. Most online sellers, like motorcyclesuperstore and revzilla have great return policies that make buying a helmet easy. I usually see a helmet I like at the dealer, try a couple for sizing then order online.

As far as your question about that specific helmet, sorry I have no experience with it.

If I buy it, I will go through LS HD at $108....The HJC's just don't look as good as the ones they make for HD.....I may go to a local Rev Zilla store and try some on before I decide...

I have a HD branded half with a little ducktail on the back.

while I don't know much about helmets and only use them while traveling through hostile territory...

this is the only helmet I've had that doesn't bobble or pull up on the strap.

I really recommend them- they go by various silly model names, I think "spoiler" is one of them.

any helmet purchase should include a test fit, too loose is useless for protection, too tight is uncomfortable.

I don't have experience with that helmet, but I do have a gmax gm65 naked, which also has a flip-down clear (or tinted) visor. I keep the clear in it, since I wear sunglasses when I ride. The visor doesn't do much for wind in the eyes, but it does keep the raindrops away from them. If I really want protection, I'll just throw on a full-face.

Does RevZilla have brick and mortar stores? I just ordered a Bell Drifter from them but I couldn't see anywhere on their website describing physical stores.

I just got a Bell Pit Boss helmet:

http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/b...s-helmet-solid

In flat black.

It has this trick adjuster at the back of the neck that allows you to dial in the fit, like a bicycle helmet. Bar none the best fitting helmet I've ever had. Flip down shield works ok, don't use it much.

Also, I bought it from the dealer after trying it on, they sold it for $119, where all the online stores have it at $129.
