I commented on your thread. Just saw this one myself.
Fairing Factory has updated the vents to metal with much better position detents. The ones in this thread appear to be the old style plastic.

myself, I can't see the vents even being put on down here where it's 95+ from may through beginning of november. :-)

funny thing is the stock vented lowers from HD come with plastic indents as well. If I put them on, I'll try the springs that go in there first..

Big "THanks" to UltraNutz for posting this. I just found my "Birthday Present". Great info, and instructions or not, super deal. The pdf answers the mail for instructions. Sometimes this Forum just can't be beat! (Other times, it BITES :=)

Just out of curiosity, what happened to the stock set of lowers that came on your Limited?

I bought the Matuza lowers and they look like the same quality and parts. I bought the HD spring (which is more like a dense silicone as opposed to a spring) and changed the hardware to better hardware.

I'm glad I paid less than 2bills because now my mater cylinder is seaping and over the last two weeks made some of the paint peel on the right lower. I would have been PISSED if those were HD lowers.

So I guess the general consensus is if you buy any of these knock-off lowers it is a good idea just to get the HD parts breakdown and buy all stock hardware.

the way I understand it is yes as well. However with that said.. I just got off the phone with my local HD parts department on the individual parts.

For a complete set of screws, bolts, nuts, crash bar clamps, and 2 springs will run you about $125.

I'll go to Ace Hardware and get what I need.
