Sometimes when I start my 13 flhx I get a small backfire from my air cleaner. Doesn't happen often but had it happen 2 or 3 times this summer. Stage 1 kuryakyn hi-five Mach 2 air, powervision from fuel moto, Reinhart slip-ons
bent valve/cam timing/pushrod out of adjustment/ bad valve seat...anything that would have intake valve not closing completely...this is not common... unless monkeys have been working on the cams or revving over 6200 rpms
probably nothing to worry about unless it becomes frequent, or interferes with safe operation ( like leaving from a light)
If I start my bike and let off the start switch as soon as I hear the engine fire it'll sometimes stall and spit back through the air cleaner. It's never done that if I hold the start button down til I'm sure the engine is running.
