Looking for help for a friend of mine experiencing bike problems up in the mountains on vacation.
He has a 2003 Ultra with rough running issues. He said it feels like an exhaust leak or vacuum problem but he doesn't hear anything different. He just had it serviced at a dealer before leaving on vacation for its 45,000 scheduled service. He's already pulled the plugs and everything looks normal. Any ideas what could be wrong. He says it's not bad gas, he's already burned through the tank of gas when the issue started and partly into another from a different gas station.
Appreciate any advice to pass along. Thanks in advance.
I would start with the intake manifold, you can have cracked o ring gaskets and never hear a leak. Spray some wd 40 around the intake manifold while bike is running and see if you have an rpm change, if so you are a step closer to finding the problem. Hope you can finish your mountain trip.

Ok ... In the interest of putting this issue to rest, problem solved by installing the correct spark plugs. Just another reason to do your own maintenance. Thanks for your input pdzani.
